Black Screen Crash When Launching Homeworld 1 Remastered or Homeworld 2 Remastered

Some users have reported a black screen and then a crash to desktop when running Homeworld 1 Remastered or Homeworld 2 Remastered. Our engineers are aware of the issue and investigating possible fixes to be included in a future update.

In the meantime, If you are experiencing this issue, uninstall all your video drivers from your PC and re-install the newest set of drivers from http://support.amd.com/en-us/download (AMD) or http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us (Nvidia). This has been reported to fix the issue.

Also, please verify that you have followed the instructions at: https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/entries/63285720-IMPORTANT-INFORMATION-ON-HARDWARE-DRIVERS-AND-DIRECTX

Also, verify that your system meets the minimum requirements here: https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/entries/62587704-Poor-Performance-in-Homeworld-Remastered

If using an Nvidia card, go into your Nvidia control panel. Click on Manage 3D Settings. Under the "global tab", select the drop down box and change your system card preference from "auto" to your Nvidia card.

This will force the game use your Nvidia card instead of your integrated graphics card.

If you've tried this and are still experiencing the issue, please submit a support ticket at support.gearboxsoftware.com.
